Registrar of Companies, Kerala & Lakshadweep has issued order under proviso to section 96(1) of Companies Act, 2013 extending the time for holding AGM for financial year FY 2019-20 by three months from the due date by which AGM ought to have been made without requiring to file applications for seeking such in Form No. GNL-1.
The benefit of this order will also be available to those companies which have already sought extension of time limit in Form No. GNL-1, which is either pending or rejected, without any further action on the part of the company.
This extension is in the wake of several representations made by companies, industry bodies and professional institutes to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs expressing difficulty in conducting AGM in time due to the widespread of COVID-19 and consequential restrictions linked thereto.
